Nayland College

The 2013 Careers Road Show will be visiting Nayland College on Thursday 23 May, Term 2 from 9:00am until 1:30pm in the school hall.  A range of providers will be attending.  There is also an opportunity for students and parents to attend outside of school hours on Monday 20 May; 4:00pm – 6:00pm at Nelson College for Girls and Tuesday 21 May; 4:00pm – 6:00pm at Waimea College.

NMIT have asked us to remind senior students who are unsure about their direction and who are interested in the outdoors and practical learning, to consider their Certificate in Trades Primary Industries.  Contact NMIT for further information.

Nayland College invites parents and students who are applying for the Top of the South Trades Academy Course for 2013 to attend an information evening on Thursday 1 November.  This meeting will be held in Room 22, Block 2 from 5:30pm – 6:00pm.  The purpose of this meeting is to meet staff involved and ask questions; be informed as to how the course will operate (e.g. assessment, attendance at NMIT and impact on other subjects) and understand student expectations.

Staff from NMIT will be at Nayland College on Wednesday 24 October in Room 22, 12:55pm, to talk about their Scholarship Programme (for employment in Administration/Reception).  The scholarship offers full-time employment in Nelson; one half-day study per week at NMIT; employment contract reviewed year end (either party can end); earn while you learn and experience and insight.  Students are encouraged to investigate this excellent opportunity.
