In the last week of term 2, 65 students from the Nayland College Vocal Company and Orchestra left Nelson for a week-long trip to Wellington. We spent 4 days touring the city, playing at Intermediate Schools in the area, as well as one windy performance in Civic Square. We were warmly welcomed everywhere we went and everyone enjoyed our repertoire of Broadway classics and Musical Theatre varying from Phantom of the Opera to Jersey Boys. We played some difficult music but everyone rose to the occasion. It was a full-on week and everyone returned exhausted but we had a great time both visiting and performing in Wellington. The trip was a huge success.
