In September a team from the Learner Support Centre competed in the Special Olympics Basketball Tournament at Saxton Stadium.
Teams from as far afield as Christchurch were involved in the competition. The morning was devoted to practising skills, with three games played in the afternoon. The students won their first two matches and narrowly lost the third, receiving a ribbon for a second placing in their grade.
