Across the Nelson region Tuesday 4 June is a Teacher Only Day for all secondary schools. This is a Ministry of Education-granted day for secondary schools to focus on the new achievement standards.
Students should not attend school on this day; school buses will not be running.

Otago University are holding a law career function at the Riwaka Room, Rutherford Hotel in Nelson on Friday 7 June 1:00pm - 3:00pm. Any Year 12 or 13 students planning to study law at Otago are invited to attend. Please register your name at the Careers Centre by Friday 24 May.

Nayland College has the privilege of hosting these auspicious Speech Competitions in 2013. The competitions will begin with a pōwhiri at 8.30am to all schools , taonga. Kai to follow. Competitions begin at 9.45 am and will run through to approximately 5.30 pm.
The entrants in the regional competitions are the winners of their respective school competitions, which take place prior to 1 May each year. Entries to the regional competitions must be received by Friday 25 May.
